AI tools like Copilot, ChatGPT, and Claude are already on the desks of most project professionals, but the leap from casual experimentation to purposeful, efficient use in project delivery remains a challenge.
This session, led by James Garner from APM Corporate Partner Gleeds, cuts through the hype to focus on what actually works, what doesn’t, and how to get started properly.
If you’re a project professional with some experience of AI tools and you would like more structured guidance on applying them to real project work, please attend. No technical background is required.
James will start with a practical tour of current helpful AI applications across the PM lifecycle, such as meeting transcripts to provide quality minutes and action logs, scheduling and estimating support, risk identification, PSR drafting, and stakeholder communications. James will offer a live demo with real prompts that work.
James will then focus on how to navigate your way through the blockers in your organisation, from IT security to building the business case. He will also talk about the ethical guardrails and how to know when not to use AI, as well as a simple framework for identifying where to start in your own projects.
Following that, there’ll be a brief look ahead to agentic AI, AI-augmented project offices, and what this means for the profession, bringing together future possibilities and today’s practical realities.
You will then have the opportunity to get your questions answered and share your experiences, insights and concerns.
By the end of the session you will leave with a clear understanding of where AI adds genuine value in project delivery, to help you move beyond experimentation.
This session will be uploaded to the APM Corporate Hub – please reach out if you need access or more information on how to access the event via HPCA’s APM Corporate Membership
